Creative Design Realisation.

This modular was one of my formatives. The final professional garment was a success I don't have a photograph of the finished product , but I have a flat illustration of it.
Creative Design Realisation:
Evaluation.
In this modular I have adopted a variety of principles and techniques associated with creative and contemporary garment construction and the use of specialist machinery combined with creative pattern cutting and garment construction. I have toughly enjoyed the creative aspect of this modular which has given me a lot more understanding of the topic in hand.
The technical file has been a good experience to create, the work inside will be useful to refer back to in the future. The development has thought me things that will settle me in the basics foundations in the fashion industry.
The making prototype professional garment I had to follow criteria which had Creative darts, a set-in sleeve, a facing, a zip and element of fullness and flair in either the skirt section of the dress or the sleeves of a dress or top. I chose to make a dress which had creative darts, set in sleeves, a facing around the neck, a 24” zip, and an element of fullness and flair in the skirt, the sleeve and the top. This made my dress an A line shape.
This modular has furthered me with my personal development. The learning aspect of the modular which will stick with me for the rest of my life. I have enjoyed all the other aspects of the creative modular, especially pattern cutting and developing; I did not realised there were so many stages to creating a pattern and the final garment .These stages helped my create the exact style I designed my garment to be. I enjoyed adding fullness and flair, I did not realise that the technique was so easy yet so effective. The development stages of creating a pattern where really interesting and even if I came across a problem with my pattern I can refer back to my master draft and find the problem then resolve it. This was the main part of the modular but there where several other things I also learnt, how to fit zips, facings, pockets, sleeves, cuffs, trousers and a bodice. These stages lead me towards the final garment making, but if I hadn’t of learn them then I wouldn’t be able to construct my final dress.
When making my garment, seeing the final outcome made me rather proud how it looked so professional. Also I could link in all the work I have done previously on things such as zips and facings .This garment was made from the basic fabric: calico, It wouldn’t be my preferred fabric of choice, but I may make my dress in my own private study, which will further me in my own personal progress and creative development.
In conclusion this project has been very positive to me. It will set all the foundations for me in garment making and construction. This modular has thought me allot more than I thought it would, It has opened my eyes to the whole subject. I have truly enjoyed it and I am looking forward to using my new skills in other modulars.
